3 Star, Superior Tourist Class Traditional Hotel
The location of this hotel is outstanding. Situated right in the heart of the old town, on the Niederdorfstasse, the main paved pedestrian street running the length of the old town.
Bedrooms on the whole are small. The majority have recently been refurbished with new, modern furniture. Many rooms feature hand painted murals and wild colour schemes while others are simple and basic. Both the rooms and the bathrooms (some of which are also Flamboyantly decorated) are in good condition.
There is not a restaurant in the hotel as guests can choose from the numerous typical Swiss restaurants in the old city. Breakfast is served in the rooms by a maid (guests should fill in an order form before going to bed to specify what they want and when they want it, and then hang it on their door.)
The hotel is a period building which has been recently renovated. The lobby is very small and decorated in simple, modern style. Reception at the hotel is only open until 10pm. After this time guests should check in two doors down at the reception of the T&M gay nightclub which is open until 6am.
This is a perfect choice for the young and young at heart in central Zurich. This gay-friendly hotel (run by gay owners) shares a building with a gay nightclub which is open until the small hours and can be a little noisy.
